We’re off!

Well, today I have the day off because Tuesday was my birthday.  Sheesh pretty soon I’ll be celebrating the 29th anniversary of my 29th birthday LOL! We’re taking advantage of the long weekend and going 4-wheeling up the Poudre River. It is my new passion you know.

While I LOVE the sport, it really is a bummer to be stuck on the back of someone elses 4-wheeler and since we only have one and since it WAS my 52nd birthday this week … well …

What can I say!  I can’t wait to get out of here LOL! I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures.

On the bead front, I just have to show you my latest experiment. I’m not completely happy with this one. It has a few flaws that make it unsellable on EBay. I had to order a slightly larger punch because I ended up grinding the holes on these to make they slightly larger (way too much work). Also, the punch I used must be ruined because the edge of every disk has a flaw. And on top of that, I must have cut the tubing a little long because one end of the tube split. Oh, and the bead design itself keeps the beads from fitting tightly together. But all that aside, I’m excited about the possibilities and will be revisiting this design.

If you would like to have this bead in spite of its flaws, I’ll let this one go to the first person who emails me for $20. I’ll get the shipping. (Please note the copper will patina)

I’ll be back Sunday night with lots of pictures! Thanks for checking in on me.

Homecoming!

Well, happy Saturday! Today my babie(s) come home for a 6 day visit. Miss Maggie and Zildjian will arrive at DIA early this afternoon. They are flying home for the family picnic which is tomorrow. Whoo Hoo! I miss them so much since they left. The siblings are actually fighting over who gets to go to the airport to pick them up. Silly kids. I”M picking them up LOL!

In the meantime, I’m still trying to stick my foot in the EBay door. EBay is ruthlessly cruel if you take a break. Your loyal and faithful customers move on to the next bead maker. Not that I blame them. I just wish it didn’t take so long to get things moving again. So you can find some bargain beads from me. Here’s a sneak peek at this week’s listings.  Have a super weekend! Patti

New Bead Design

What do you think?  176 dots in each one Whew!

Coming attractions

I’m always attracted to beads that are made with Bullseye glass so I ordered up a batch of it.  Yesterday I spent the day at the torch playing with it and even though it is like starting over, I’m pleased with the results so far.

In the meantime, here are the auctions coming up this week on EBay.

Continued …

OK. So here’s the pictures I promised.

View from the Top

Oh My!  I’ve got a new passion! We went to the Routt National Forest last weekend and took along our new 4-wheeler that my hubby just had to have for moving stuff around on our property. I never knew that anything could be so much fun!  When I was a kid, my Dad had a Toyota Land Cruiser that we used to go 4-wheeling in. It was so much fun, but vehicles like that are few and far between these days. Our new 4-wheeler can go places even that old Land Cruiser couldn’t.  We had a BLAST!  I’ve got some fantastic pictures, but I couldn’t get Yahoo to upload them this morning so I’ll have to post them later. My hubbie is visiting family in Ohio right now, but when he comes back we plan on 4-wheeling every weekend we possibly can.

In the meantime, I do have some beauties coming up on EBay so without further ado …

The Thing Is ...

That computers and cameras and all that other stuff that is required to get your art out there can eat up more time than making your art!  It’s just sooooo frustrating!

Anyway, here’s my first listing on EBay in a really long time.

So here’s the next few auctions coming. If you want them, post something BEFORE they get listed on the Bay. Thanks!

Lampwork?

OK. So now that it’s warm enough to venture out to the glass studio, I’ve been busy making some heart pendants because I HATE cleaning beads. Here’s about half of what I’ve got. I’ll probably list them on EBay for about $15, but you can get them here by emailing me for $12, shipping included. Thanks!

OK. Well, the picture of beads came out all fuzzy so we’ll skip that for now. But here’s a picture of my latest shawl. Made of 100% superwash merino (so soft), hand dyed, hand spun, hand knit. Thanks to Maggie for modeling for me. Oh, and by the way, I am willing to part with most my work if you just have to have it :)

Update at long last!

Well, I’ve been such a slacker so here’s a quick update. Sadly, my dear, dear geeky friend passed away. He will be missed.

I purchased a Spinnolution Bee!  Wee! LOVE it. It’s ratio is super high so I’ve been practicing spinning my lace weight yarn.

I’ve spun several skeins of super yummy yarn on my new wheel.

I finished my first shawl made 100% of my handspun yarn.

With the arrival of spring comes the urge to make beads again. The shop is too cold to make beads in the winter time, but now it’s very comfortable out there. I’ve been practicing making heart pendants. I also bought some molds and cast a few heart boxes.

I found a face mold made by a tool designer named Carlo Dona and couldn’t resist. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

My hubby’s friend Sparky built me some traditional Estonian blocking frames which I made shawl blocking sooooo much easier!

OK. Now I’m off to try and get pictures of all this for you. Have a great Sunday.
