Well, Rich has got my shop all finished. I should be toasty warm this winter. I’ll post some pictures later. But in the meantime, here’s the pick of the day. On http://www.artfire.com/users/MissP for $10 including shipping.

Flowers … Yum!

Here’s one I just listed on ArtFire. Eventually, someone will get brave and be my first sale over there!

How Low Can I Go?

Filed under: Miscellaneous Stuff — Miss P @ 3:52 am

Sometimes I just need to make something simple like spacer beads. And actually, they are quite challenging. Trying to make tiny little spacers and have them come out exactly the same size is almost impossible. But I do love making them. It’s fun to see the kiln full of mandrels sticking out!

The guys have been busy insulating my shop for me. I’m so excited! They built a wall (complete with a door) for me and now I’ll be able to make beads year-round. This of course prompted a cleaning spree. They still need to insulate the roof, but hopefully the shop will be toasty warm in no time. Good thing too, ’cause the mountains are getting pounded with snow today and the wind is howling here.

Here’s a sampling of the spacers on Artfire (http://www.artfire.com/users/MissP). Just $3.50 and that includes shipping!  Thanks for stopping by.

New Digs!

Filed under: Miscellaneous Stuff — Miss P @ 11:08 am

OK. Here’s the deal. My EBay auctions usually sell for the $9.99 that I list them at. The fees, however are quite substantial. Etsy is better, however they also charge final value fees.

I don’t make a lot of money on my beads to begin with and that’s not why I do this.  I make beads because I love doing it.

So, I’ve made the decision that I’m moving my beads to http://www.artfire.com/users/MissP. This is a great site that charges a low flat monthly fee for me to list my beads for sale and NO final value fees … whoo hooo!  That means you don’t have to wait for auctions to end either. However, you might have to be fast to grab the good ones since they will all be “Buy It Now’s”.

I hope you understand why I’m making this move. It will save you a lot of money in the end. Thanks for hanging in there with me and be sure to check my ArtFire shop often. New beads will be added regularly.

Hi there, I’m feeling guilty for not updating my blog more so here’s a quick update. My weekends are soooo full. It seems like I have commitments every week. This upcoming weekend is the Chili Festival in Pueblo. Must go down there and buy enough chili to restock the freezer for the year. And the weekend after that is my annual big craft show in Denver so I’ve been dying wool and making socks like a mad woman. I’ll have to get some pictures put together for you.

In the meantime, maybe I’ll start posting my EBay listings here for you so this is what’s up today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A Whole Lotta Nothin’

Filed under: Miscellaneous Stuff — Miss P @ 5:49 am

Just a quick update and an appology. There is just not much going on around here. I am anxiously awaiting Maggie and Zildjian’s arrival next week. They are moving back home and Rich will follow in about a month. I’m so glad they finally figured out this is where they belong. They will shack up with us until they can find a place. Yuuummmm, the pitter-patter of little feet!

The bead making is humming along. I’ve gotten into a rhythm of listing 1 bead per day. It allows me the freedom to explore my other love … fiber. I need to get busy making socks. My one big show is coming up quickly. October 2 in Littleton, CO. Unfortunately, I’ve got the urge to knit something fantastically lacy …. hmmm, but which one???

My Favorite This Week

Filed under: Miscellaneous Stuff — Miss P @ 5:01 pm

Well, it’s been a busy day and somewhat frustrating. My IPhone got wiped clean somehow and I’ve spent hours and hours on the computer getting that straightened out and taking pictures.

Thought I’d just quickly share my favorite bead this week. There are still a bunch waiting patiently to be cored and photographed, but I LOVE this one!

Happy Anniversary!

We went down to Debbie and Tony’s house last night to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Had a great time. Here’s a few pictures to show you the fun. Beadies will follow later today. No torchin today. It will be 100 degrees and there’s laundry to be done.

Jessica, Sarah and Dawn, Cousins Rock!

The Unloveables

Filed under: Miscellaneous Stuff — Miss P @ 5:50 am

Every wonder what happens to all the beads I make that don’t sell? Well, here’s the basics. Beads are first listed on EBay as an auction or a BIN. For the most part, my beads are selling well, but over the last week or so, suddenly nothing is selling! Hmmmm, well, I’m working on figuring out why that is and trying to not let it discourage me.

So, what happens to all those beads that don’t sell? Well I don’t re-list them on EBay. Since I only ask $9.99 for them, it isn’t worthwhile to incur the EBay fees again so they are listed on Etsy. (http://www.etsy.com/shop/missp)

If unsuccessful there, I have a box of beads that holds all unsold beads. This box is toted around to all the little craft fairs I sign up for. My kids have also learned about this box and know that with a little push, I can be convinced to give these beads away.

My son has an arrangement with a local shop to display some of my beads for sale, but I haven’t gotten any of the proceeds back somehow (LOL).

And finally, my friend Gerri works with a group at the local golf course. They make Christmas gifts for the orphan children in our area. The beads are perfect for making jewelry for the “tweener” kids. Kids that are too old for toys but love hip jewelry!

Guess I’ll keep making beads 🙂
